Hello! Hoping someone can help me..I just purchased a new Dell Laptop and wirelessly networked it with my Dell Desktop using a D Link router and wireless card. When I ran the network set up wizard, everything went perfectly and I was able to share files, printer etc. While I was on the laptop listening to music on my new network, my wife logged on to the desktop and my music stopped and I lost my network. I still have wireless internet access on the laptop, but I can no longer access the network. I get an error that says "(Network name) is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The network path was not found."

I am logged in as adminstrator under both machines. There are the same user account names on each machine and no passwords are being used.

Both machines are running XP Home.

I am not running any firewalls on either machine and the XP firewall is turned off on both.

I tried pinging.. neither machine could ping the other. I am not really familiar with this..I thought I would get a ping since I could get wireless access.

The IP address listed on my laptop is 192.168.0.100 and my desktop is 192.168.0.101. Is this the correct format or do I need to change them? If so, How do I even do that? It seems I read somewhere that the IP addresses should end in 01 and 02.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated...I have been trying to figure this out for 3 days now and I'm very frustrated. :dizzy: Thanks!

FYI... had to reformat the desktop, everything is working as of now. Hopefully it will continue that way.

Welcome :)

Thanks for the update :)

That is fine. It depends on the router, but that is a common format.
