Netscape? Images

When I right click and save some pictures on the internet, especially from Yahoo Groups, I discover that my computer is saving them wrong. They do not appear as little miniatures of themselves in the file folder. Instead, they all appear as a blue square with a big "N" on it, presumably a Netscape Navigator icon.

I like to use images from the internet on my screensaver. Although these "N" images are in the screensaver file, they never appear.

I have tried to "preview" and it always says "No Preview Available" on the "N" images.

I have tried saving them as both types available, Art and Bmp.

How do I make these images available?

What format is it saving them as?
(Right Click> Properties on one of the files should tell you. We just need either the format or the last 3 letters after the dot in the file name...example: .jpg)
