CD Writer Problems

My HP CD Writer Plus keeps opening and closing on its own. How do I stop this? Using Windows ME.

Also, is bwdelay and delayrun suppose to be running in Windows ME?

Thanks

Welcome to CTH . I'm not sure about the two processes running, but you could run a virus scan and Hiajck This. Please post your results back. Make sure the CD_RW drive is enabled in BIOS. TO enable it, reboot the computer and press F2 or Delete on the diagnostic screen, (the screen which comes when you boot up). THen search for the Secondary slave and make sure the IDE is set to both.

Hi Tommie, isn't that kind of neat? j/k
I had this happening on a puter I took in to work on and it was related to adware called n-case. You may want to start with these tools, then post an hjt log in cyber security. Also check your add/remove programs for something called n/case and remove it.

Adaware: (use option to search for updates)
