Hello all... I used my recovery cd for my cpu to try and reinstall some missing files. It gave me a choice of restoring original contents with out deleting any info or deleting hd then restoring. I chose not to delete. My problem is that the cd freezes at 15 % everytime at a file named netcom.usernet.nws -- I want to know is there any way I can extract a few files I need off of the cd manually. I really don't want to delete my hd if the cd is only going to 15%

I get the message "Tapi32.dll can not start, check the file to fix problem. How do I fix the problem. I tried extracting all the tapi files off my companion cd and also the telephon.cpl file to the c:\windows\system dir. I still get the same message. Is there something else I can try to fix this? please help. Thank You!

does isp's (aol etc.)use telephony? I can't get it to work. I install aol 7.0 on my pc but after install the little blue aol box pops up then dissappears but the aol browser never comes up so that I can set up my access numbers and all that stuff... What can be causing this. Will the toolhelp.dll fix this or what can I do to fix this. Mind you I'm at a library right now which is why it takes me a while to respond to and suggestions. also when I go to the control panel and click an icon its says tha I've performed an illegal operation yada yada yada... At the top of the warning box it says rundll do I need to replace rundll.32.exe file also. Finally when I start windows another illegal operation is performed. At the top of this box it says SVCHost. What could be causing this. Yes I know my pc is crappy but any and all help is very appreciated.

Sorry, I know nothing about AOL except what I have heard and that's not pleasant.

"AO-hell"

Is it even supposed to work on 95?

See this KB article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;131746 I tried that but it gives the same message "Tapi32.dll could not start. Please check file to determine problem" . Any more suggestions anyone and what exactly does telephony do?

Provides Telephony API (TAPI) support for programs that control telephony devices and IP based voice connections on the local computer and, through the LAN, on servers that are also running the service. You have a file called SVCHOST.exe this a 2000/XP file so im guessing that is a fake and you might have a virus.
