Hi. New to the site. Appreciate any help given. Problem is as follows:
Have two Windows 98 SE machines. Both running office xp. Mail profiles on both are identical. (Exchange Server 2000 used). All Windows updates identical, as are all office updates.
However, co-work can send attachments from Machine 1 with no problems on recipients end. (Recipients using Outlook Express and Lotus Notes) This machine's mail format set to Rich Text.
Machine 2 will send email but recipients recieve email with either no attachment, or attachment is an eml file. When eml file is opened, header and footer information (ie mail server, domain and routing information) are in the file and all other information is garbled.(Squiggles and boxes and y's). There is no encription set on either machine. Machine 2 has mail format set to plain text.
Have done extensive testing with regards to Machine 2 ie: reinstalled office xp. Installed office 2000. Removed everything regarding profiles and mail from registry. Changed profiles, changed formats etc. Nothing seems to work.
Co-worker is very frustrated as everytime she wants to send email with attachments, she has to get up and leave her desk to use Machine 1. (This machine cannot be switched with Machine 2 as it is used by someone else)
Again, appreciate any help that may be offered.
