curios router logs

Hi,
I'm not to sure about what these logs actually mean. I was just browsing through my routers configuration when I started looking at the log page. This is what I saw:

30 June 2004 10:02:36 Unrecognized attempt blocked from 80.1.238.58:4569 to TCP port 2745
30 June 2004 10:02:43 Unrecognized attempt blocked from 80.1.238.58:4569 to TCP port 2745
30 June 2004 10:02:50 Unrecognized attempt blocked from 203.217.202.45:2778 to TCP port 1025
30 June 2004 10:02:53 Unrecognized attempt blocked from 203.217.202.45:2778 to TCP port 1025
30 June 2004 10:02:59 Unrecognized attempt blocked from 203.217.202.45:2778 to TCP port 1025

Should I be worried about these attempts? Does anyone know if they are harmless, or even what they are?

Thanks for any help on this.

Router Log

All those logs mean is that the router has blocked attempts from someone (the ip address) trying to access a port on your machine by either sending something, or trying to establish a connection. The problem is the router did not know exactly what those people were trying to do, so it blocked them.

It is perfectly normal for a router, it is just doing it's duty of protecting your machine and users while on high-speed broadband. Don't worry about it and let the router just chug along with it's job.

Here's some info on the 2 ports on your computer that your router blocked.

You have nothing to worry about, your router took care of these probes. You maybe attracting attention on the internet if you don't have your router set to not return a ping. Go to Steve Gibson's site and do his tests on Shield'sUp. See if your computer is returning a ping.

if it is unknown and it was blocked then your router is doing its job - nothing to worry about. However, if you want to see how protected your computer is and what can be seen, run pcflank. It will test all your ports and see if your defense can be penetrated.
