Unhappy internet?

ok i just got a new laptop and i wanna hook up to the internet. I have a desktop with a dial up connection but i want to know if i can just hook up my laptop to the phone line in a different part of the house. I have free service with my laptop. Will that interfere with my existing comp connection. I don't really want to network the comps if it is not necessary. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

If it is on the same phone-line then you will only be able to use one service at a time, otherwise it should be fine.

just a word of caution, you may have free service with the new laptop but make sure you do not pay any long distance fees - but you already knew this
