Someone on this board suggested Nero 6 for CD/DVD burning. I purchased it & have a windown that popped up during install that I am leary about.

It says, "In order to complete the installation the wizard will now launch a third party setup that will install the wma support on your computer. Do you want to install the wma support?"

From what I read, wma is competing with MP3. I've also read that there are unhappy people who wind up converting wma to MP3.

From anybody's experience out there with Nero 6 install, should I continue with this "third party" install?...or avoid it?

Thanks in advance.

Depends if you want Nero to be able to support WMA files.

If not then don't bother installing it.
It won't hurt though.

I installed Nero lately and i didn't see the screen that you mentioned, but even if i had seen it i would have said yes to it.

These are just codecs and stuff like that. Not that your system does not have them, because if you try to open a WMA file it will most likely open with Windows Media Player, because that's what it stands for , but this installation is to add support to Nero software to oppen that type of file. The codec propably was designed by another company and Nero put the notifying window there for copyright purposes.
