Should this be done? I have never done it before and saw it somewhere that it should be done. Thanks

Windows ME automatically creates backups.
You can restore them using the Scanreg /Restore option.
ME also has the System Restore feature.
Goto Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
This will open the System Restore tool.
Click the Help link in the top right for the help files on System Restore.
