Hello everyone, Hope this post finds everyone as well as can be.
Need advice on helping my step-mother with her computer problem. I will also refer her to this site later.

She runs Windows Me on her computer, with an internet connection and is having a problem with her computer loading stuff slowly and sometimes not at all, I witnessed this and it is very aggravating to her.

Could anyone give me any suggestions on how to help her with this or what the problem might be. Any help in this area would be appreciated.

She also runs Webshots on her computer for her regular Screen Saver and was wondering if this could be slowing it down also.

I asked her also when was the last time she cleared out her cookies, temp internet files and defragged and she said it had been awhile so we started on that and hopefully she finished it up.

Anyway I will close for now. Again thanks in advance.

need more info about the computer itself, cpu, ram, harddrive size/space available.

Also give defrag a try. Finally, post a copy of hijackthis log in the cyber safety forum.
