can't access a certain website
All of a sudden I can't open a website that I was visiting regularly. My internet connection is fine and there are no problems with the majority of the websites, but for some reason this one does not work. I tried different brousers with no luck. I know that it works on other pc's and I was able to access it through megaproxy.com, but does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem might be?
I ran nslookup and all I got was: DNS request timed out. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

you just caught me online, but CTH is popular so you should always get decent reply speed. What Operating System? Are you using Internet Security, Web Filtering or Firewall software? Have you tried with them disabled?

My OS is windows XP, not using any firewalls, or web filtering software. The thing is, it worked fine until about a few days ago, when for some reason the site became unaccesable. I thought there was a problem with their server, but one of my friends told me it worked on his computer, so i checked, and it did work on other computers, but not mine. I can only access it through megaproxy.
I actually run adaware on a regular basis, but i don't think it's related. I checked all the "hosts" files on my pc, and this website was not in any of them. What else could've hapenned? |

Open a Command Prompt and type
ipconfig /flushdns press enter see if you can access it. If not type ipconfig /registerdns press enter See if you can access it

Seeing as though you can access it via a Proxy then it would seem to be a problem with your IP.
Check with your ISP or even the site admin incase you have been blocked.

I am still encountering the same problem. I contacted the admin of the website, who told me that my IP was not blocked. I also tried to connect to the website from a different computer (with the same ISP) and it worked! So right now I'm stuck. I check my PC regularly with Adaware and Spyware, but found nothing that could remotely relate to the problem.
In order to get around the problem I am forced to use one of the public proxy servers to access the website, but I would really like to find out what's going on. |
