lspfix

I need help, I was trying to get rid of pop-ups and found a link that suggested I use lspfix to remove a few things that spybot, adaware, spysweeper weren't getting rid of and I didn't pay complete attention, and I think I removed to many things using lspfix because now I can't get any web pages, outlook isn't connecting etc. I can connect to my isp using dial up but cant get any web pages. I keep getting a WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL error. I think I really messed something up but have no idea where to begin fixing it. Please help...
Thanks in advance,
Tony

Welcome

Have you tried a System Restore?
Who is your ISP and did you install software to connect to them?

I tried to do a system restore but for some reason it is showing me no save points at all. I don't know why this is I never disabled system restore. My isp is earthlink and I'm sure at 1 point I had to install software but it's probably been a few years so I'm not sure...?
Thanks for the quick reply

well I was searching other posts and found this line

"Try this, Click Start > Run > type scanreg /restore and click OK. Choose a date prior to this happening and hit [enter]. follow the prompts. Then Reboot."

I did this and went back a few days and it seems to have fixed the major problem... I still have many adware spyware problems but now I can at least download Hijack this and have a more informed idea of what's going on. Maybe this will help others who have been as dumb as I have when using lspfix the wrong way.
Thanks
