Hi everyone,

I'm having some troubles setting up RRAS and having it act like I'd like it to. In the past, I've just used ICS to share my company's internet connection, which presently is dial-up and the cable company has plans of expanding into the area very soon. However, since we've recently opened a new store location, I need to provide a way for remote users to access network resoures.

The system told me that ICS and RRAS cannot be enabled at the same time. I assume this is correct, as I've seen no work around for it?

Anyhow, I've followed the steps and added my modem connection to the NAT/Firewall area, made that the public interface and the Internal interface the private one. Is there any remote access policy I need to setup to allow my users to bet NATed? The service doesn't appear to run correctly, however DNS is resolving because on the clients computers it'll say connecting to 216.122.153.26... and just timeout eventually. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm kind of new to Windows Server OS, I've mostly used Unix in the past. Perhaps the log files can provide me some answers (I don't know where they are without /var/log!)?

PS After I can at least get NAT to work, through RRAS is there a way to have it auto dial my dialup connection when a network request is made, just like in ICS? I only have one modem now, I'm not sure if that makes a difference but after I've configured everything I was going to opt for another one to be added so there's a modem for remote access and internet access.

Thanks in advance. Nick
