SGI 540 boot problems

I just got my hands on an old SGI 540. As the system boots, I get the reports screen which just keeps scrolling saying that the system realtime clock test failed and that the boot was paused due to failure. Well as far as I can tell that is what it says since it scrolls very fast! Any help or ideas about how to move past this so I can set the machine up and verify that everything else is working would be greatly appreciated.
