Netgear Router Question

I'm trying to get into a hunting chat room. My Netgear router is acting like a firewall & won't let me in. Anybody have any suggestions other than unplugging the router? Thanks.

Are you using a local based client to access the chat room (like IRC)? If so, you may need to get into your router configuration and open up a certain port.
