BIOS Mystery !
I have a Compaq Desktop (Presario - cyrix processor) and after getting into the BIOS, I found that my hard drive specs simply dont show up in any of the sub menus. The Hard Drive is functional as it boots up normally and has been doing so for a couple of years now. I am using Win ME. How the heck do I find my HD specs ?
A related problem. I have this other pc which is a generic one, using a PentiumPro processor and Win 95. The HD on this one is larger and I want to swap it with the one in the Compaq. I disconnected the HD from the generic box, connected my Compaq HD to the generic box - no need to change the jumper settings as both HD's were functioning as primary in their original boxes - and I am using only one HD in either box. But when I powered on the Compaq would not boot up with the HD from the generic pc. Thats when I thought of checking into the BIOS to see if the BIOS had detected the HD or not. And when I got into the BIOS I discovered that HD specs simply don't exist !!!! Very weird - I have since restored the HD to the Compaq pc and it boots normally but I still can't see the HD specs when I go into the BIOS set up. Can some one help me out with this ? Many thanks !!!!!
