95 boot disc downloaded this site to floppy does not boot. Have to remove disc to continue boot. Same true of other "bootable" discs. Basic problem is lost but needed cdrom driver for old PB computer to be able to transfer files to new computer.

The file(s) that you're downloading are not the boot disk - they're boot disk maker programs. You have to "run" the program, have a blank floppy disk ready, and follow the prompts - when it's done you'll have a bootable floppy disk.

Clarification: 95 boot disc was poor example. I lost a cdrom driver. Downloaded a replacement from DriversGuide.com that was said to be bootable. It was a zip file downloaded to working PC desktop and extracted to a floppy. The floppy taken to ailing PC(no web access and no working cdrom drive). The floppy was not bootable and had to remove to continue boot up.
