Comp freezes on startup

Help!
My computer freezes on startup. Scan disk starts running, and the desktop appears, but then windows hangs up (freezes). I can start it in safe mode, but the same thing happens.
When it freezes, the mouse and the keyboard both do not work. but when it first boots up, it does work.
please help.
i cant find my win me disk and dont remember how to boot from disk, anyway.
I dont know much DOS language, so if your advice includes that, please be specific.

wow, sounds to me that you might have run low on memory, Olayak.

As for the boot disk you can download a copy of it here (http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm).
