I'm having trouble using my wireless connection

This may be old news by now, but i can't seem to find this anywhere online... but what exactly do i need to connect wirelessly using either Intel Centrino or a 802.11b/g connection?.. i have an integrated wireless card already in my notebook.. and centrino picks up signals while i drive around.. but how can i connect to the wireless network?.. do i need a wireless 802.11b/g router? that's my big issue.. cuz i dunno if i need to go out and buy one. Can someone please help me with this?

I don't think I fully understand the issue? What network do you want to join? Your own at home? Yes you will need a wireless router. If you want to join the one at work, call the help desk and they will get you hooked up.
