Hi all! I purchased a nifty keyboard from Ideazon (would not suggest their products by the way...you will see why in a sec).

The keyboard is a PS/2 and my (6 month old) laptop does not have a PS/2 port. So I went out and got a PS/2 to USB adapter and the keyboard does not work. Their customer "support" states that you cannot use an adapter, you HAVE to use a PS/2 port. (they also stated that their web site says that..it says that you need a ps/2 port but does not say that you cannot use an adapter). I thought that the purpose of the adapter was so that you could do stuff like this. :upset:

Question (I know, "finally! he asked the question!"): Is there anything that one can do to "fool" the keyboard or computer into thinking that the adapter is not being used so that I can use the keyboard? This is very frustrating as they seem to be very reluctant to give me my money back. :upset:

Any help is appreciated. TIA!

A notebook computer with USB but no PS/2? That would be a very odd thing, what
make and model is this notebook computer?

Well your new ps/2 keyboard is no good to you.

Emachines are emachines...they sell cheap because they don't put much in them.
Next "nifty" keyboard you see will have to be USB. You should return the ps/2 keyboard.
