I've been having extreme slowdowns for the past several months. I thought it was my Linksys router, so I bought a new one (it was 2 years old). I have the WRTG54 or something. Its a wireless-g router. Anyway, I thought it fixed it but no... it's still slowing down again. I usually can only fix it by resetting the router and modem at the same time. But it eventually happens again.

Does anyone else have this modem? Or have they had to replace it? Because modems are pretty expensive... What should I do? Thanks

I replaced my RCA DCM245R modem with the Motorola SB5120.
After upgrading my Comcast service to 8Mbps/768kbps, the RCA DCM245R modem would not allow my connection speed to go beyond 4Mbps download. Upload was not a problem.
After I got the Motorola SB5120 cable modem, I could reach speeds of 14Mbps with Comcast Internet service.
