Someone locally is willing to sell me a Lexar 80 mb compact flash card for my digital camera. I currently have a Lexar 32 mb card so this would be a nice upgrade. My only problem is I've never heard of an "80" mb card. Usually it goes 32, 64, 128, etc. I couldn't find the 80 on Lexar's website or Ebay? He did send a picture of it, and sure enough, it's an 80 mb Lexar compact flash card. Here's the thing I noticed, on the card it says "8x" and the cards on Lexar's site say 4x.

Will this card work with my digital camera? I have your basic Canon A40 digital camera (2.1 mp)

Any help would be appreciated!

You'll need to check the manual for your camera to see what cards it works with, however a quick google search suggests that 80Mb Compact Flash cards do exist and 8x ones at that.
