I have the Windows 98SE Full Version. Is it possible to use it to upgrade from Windows 98 without reformatting ? If so, how ?

Hi,
I think you can: Onced in Windows, put in the Windows 98 SE CD, it should then autostart if not then go to 'My Computer' then the CD ROM drive and then click setup. It should then ask if you would like to install SE, then install. That was what I did when i upgraded from 95 to ME once Hope this helps |

Howdy:
It won't work.. all you will get is a message saying you already have an operating system installed.. If you must do an upgrade, then find the win.com folder/file and rename it to win.old (or whatever).. Now, try using your full install cd.. If you are upgrading simply to cure some problem with Win98, chances are it won't and may make matters worse.. You would be farther ahead backing up all your important pics, docs, etc and doing a clean install.. and probably happier for it !! Murray Last edited by Murray S.; July 18th, 2004 at 04:24 PM.
