Question Mandrake 10

I tried to install os on a empty hard drive. I can install os, after installtion i reboot and the os will go as far as the login and stops there. I need a little help on why it wont go any further. I get no error messages. Thx and have a great week.

Howdy:

Are you referring to the Mandrake login screen?? If so, did you enetr your username and password in order to login??

i entered my user name and passwork put thats as far as it will go. wont go past log in screen.

Are you seeing a gaphical login screen or plain white text on black background?
If the latter, you have not configured the O/S to start the X-Windows GUI on startup.
Try typing startx the press [enter].
If the X windows system has been configured properly during the install process, you should get a graphical desktop. If it hasn't you will get a bunch of error messages and will need to run the mandrake xconfigurator (i'll have to find the command line instructions for that for you).
