This puter was recently changed from Win 95 to Win 98. I can get into Google, ancestry.com, and other web sites just fine; but as soon as I try to get into Hotmail, I get "invalid page fault" and a kernel32.dll error, it says it's performed an illegal operation, and shuts down. How can I fix this, please??

Mark down your levels and info first then...
Try setting all your security, and privacy levels to default. Even the Advanced tab.
Also do a repair on IE and make sure it is patched up all the way.
The Microsoft boys have told me to clean cookies and temp internet files when I have had Hotmail go bad on me.

I have had IE become cranky with me before. Don't hesitate to e-mail Microsoft support for Hotmail, they get back to you pretty quick.

I assume you have run SpyBot and Antivirus scans.
