OK,

So I have read a lot about reformatting a hard drive and reinstalling Windows, however, I have run into a snag. What I initially did was save all the programs and get drivers, etc. I then botted off the 98 boot disk and went to the DOS screen. in the a: prompt, I typed fdisk. I then said add new partition (1), but then it said there already was one. I then deleted the one that was there (3), then restarted, and then put a partition back (option 1). It checked the drive integrity, etc. both times. I then reloaded off the boot disk to DOS. I typed format c: and it said the invalid disk error. I then went to a c: prompt and typed it and it gave me the message: Invalid media type reading drive c. I tried typing "sys c:" in the c and a prompts with the same results as when I typed format c:. I also tried "format /s" on both with the same results. I then tried deleting the partition and redoing it again. I then tried everything I just listed again with the same results. Does anyone know what I did wrong, something to try or how to fix this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you set your new partition active?
