Anyone have any views/opinions/experience with Picasa (http://www.picasa.com/google/?promo=hpp4) picture viewer from Google?

I took a look around the site and the software looks pretty impressive for a free program. Or a commercial program for that matter.
I've tried a couple of other image management programs, the ones I got with a digital cam or elsewhere, and never stuck with them. (Arcsoft junk comes to mind.) Too much automation, missing critical features I use, or too complex for my simple needs. I always migrate back to Irfanview/Windows Explorer.
But Picasa looked good enough that I downloaded the program and if I get bored sometime I'll install and mess around with it. Maybe this is the ONE.;)

Hey! I think Picasa is the most awesome thing I've seen in awhile, well, this is judging from 10 minutes of using it, but it's incredible! I have my pictures scattered about, in folders.....I just imported them with the most wonderful interface so that I can easily find what I want. Let's you name the albums and all. They sure look beautiful! For some reason after installing it, my computer shut down without my telling it to, don't know what that was about, but I think this program is for me! Beautiful!

Well, maybe you don't want to put any private pics on that thing. A little GoogleHacking turned up this interesting result:
(Go to Google and enter "index of" / picasa.ini)

That's not so good. :(
The reason for asking if it is free, is because in the mail Harrie sent, there's a signature from Picasa saying to download the free "trial" version, that's why I wasn't so sure. :)

I played with it for a couple of days, it's cool for free. I recently updated my ACDSee from 3.1
to 7 so after that I don't need another pic viewer/manipulator. ACDSee 7 is da bomb.
