Deleting Information

I would like to sell my old computer in a garage sale. I wanted to know what is the best way for me to delete all my personal information from the hard drive. With so much identity theft going on I'm a little paranoid. Thanks for your help.:hmm:

I would say the easiest way to get rid of this kind of information is to format your hard drive and then install Windows.

You might be able to find some programs on the web which could delete this information

I would agree that a format is the best option.

You can go further by writing zeros to the drive so that data would be almost impossible to recover.

If you had sensitive info on it, just format it 3-4 times then reinstall the original os
