I keep getting a Msoobe error when I click on IE. This function is for the XP activation code. I have completely deleted XP off of the primary partition (I hope) and re-installed Win 98. How can I get rid of this error?

um...question....why did you go back to 98??? I mean I had 98 until last week when i got XP...and a new harddrive. XP is nicer...annoying sometimes granted...with many MANY more holes...but as a whole XP can be usefull in ways 98 wasn't...oh well....if i could go back i think i'd want 98 too....but change must come someday :D.

Uninstall IE...and make sure on the box or case of IE that it is FOR 98....if not get if for 98....your more than likely reinstalling a program for XP.

The only real way to change to a different operating system, wether degrade or upgrade...is to get a new harddrive. It is MUCH easier...and though costly, gives less headaches. Don't worry about your files, all you have to do is slave the first harddrive to the new one and transfer. However, like me and had to wait FOREVER to get enough money to GET a new driver AND XP, well i guess this is what i think.

Here's the thing...my machine ws designed for 98. I added add'l memory (256k). Since XP didn't take...I was gonna try Win 2000 Pro. It didn't take either. So I had an old 98 full install disk and just added it back on just so I could get the computer up and running. Now my drivers are gone and I'm getting all these crazy errors.

Weird....ok...this is probably going to insult you....but I HAVE to ask....did you uninstall the OTHER two OS BEFORE you reinstalled 98...and if so...how did you do that??? Do you still have all your files on your harddrive????
