encryption

i have 3 workstations in my wireless network. i use all linksys devices. i tried to set up WPA encryption and it does it on the main base station and the 2 others can find the pc's but won't go online. i tried WEP encryption and the same thing happens. i'm running xp home on all of them. i hate to keep running no encryption, some ahole could screw things up from his car parked across the street! any suggestions?
