Hi, l was using Windows NT Chinese Version, PIRATE CD! I will never do it again...EVER! I finally got my hands on win95 and l have created an MS DOS boot disk so that it goes to DOS on startup. I accessed FDISK and deleted all my partitions then built my primary DOS partition 20% usage, and my secondary DOS partition (100%) so that l could make my non DOS partition which allowed me to create my D drive (or just was my D drive!)...am l making sense so far? Anyway l went back to DOS and typed D:

It went to D:\ as l wanted. I then followed the manual and typed win95\setup

It came up with uncompatible media type (it was something like this something about uncompatible media) then is said

abort, retry, fail?

l am at my wits end, l dunno what to do! I could really do with some professional advice and there seem to be some experts around here so fingers crossed that l can get a helpful response soon.

Thanxs

OK. What you have done is created 2 partitions but haven't yet formatted either of them. DOS recognises a C: and D: drive but there is no file system installed.
You need to FORMAT C: \s and FORMAT D:
Then when you are ready to install Windows, (assuming you have a bootdisk that recognises your CD-Rom) you will need to run Setup from E (as c & d are now hard disks, the CD drive will have been given the next available drive letter.
