Mouse not working Help

I have a old computer (8years old or so) windows 95 and I have a star wars mouse that works with it. No other mouse will work with it.I have gone in and chenge the mouse setting for any mouse I try and it wont work. I dont get it . Why would this mouse and no other mouse work with it? Can you help me. The mouse I have that works with it is from my husbands collection and he wants to keep it. We want to sale the computer but no one will by it if it wont work with any other mouse.What do I do?

is a PS2 mouse or a serial? if it has a serial connection just get that. best thing to do is boot into safemode and delete all the mice out of the device manager, take out the star wars one and put in another and if it doesnt detect it, use the CRTL ESC buttons to access start / menu control panel and search for new hardware.
