i just got a new (old) comp i bought from a friend and am working on it. It seems as though it runs pretty slow. It has a pent 4 2.8 gig chip Radeon 9600xt. And still my old comp runs by far faster (1.8 gig pent 3 Geforce ti 200). I checked the processes and im running like 33. i took a look at the programs page and every few seconds programs such as windows media player messanger and internet explorer dont respond. then they do respond a few seconds later and so the vicious cycle begins......i need advice on what to do please!!!!! I think its some driver or Windows Xp. but it could be a hardware problem that i have no idea what it is......dont think its hardware i think its soft.

btw
i have windows Xp professional and 512 megs of ddr ram one stick. and still my computer runs impossibly slow.....lags like a mofo.
