What have the company said?

I would think that if you are using the same design & structure then the company will have intellectual property rights over that design.

This means that you would have to change the design of your site.

It all depends how far they want to take it.

You need to be clearer. If everything pertaining to the site was turned over to you then there should be no problems. However, it could be a good time to redesign the site and redo the database to make sure.

The actual layout of the site is completely different its just the background data base that creates the drop down boxes and the information in the boxes is identical as it was literally cut and pasted.

If it is an exact copy then you may have problems, again depending on how the company feels.

and how the company feels could change from week to week so it really needs to be redone to prevent this problem. If you find someone to do this for you, make sure you clarify ownership in a contract.
