I am trying to create a form in Word 2000. I created a one column, two row table. I do not want the table to expand.

Currently, the table grows with every new text line entry. I have 5 lines for the text form field to grow into, but every time the text wraps onto the next line, the 5 lines below remain.

Is there any way to set the size of the table/cell and have the text form field fill the allowed space?

just make it a one row table or you can press your insert key then type

Okey, I guess I could create a table within a table. The outside table could have a border to show the defined amount of space allowed for data entry or a hand written account. The internal table can have no border and limit the amount of characters a person can data enter.

Does this sound right? Is there a better way to solve this?
