Having trouble with OE Ver.6 which worked great for several years on this Micron, (ME). IE is Ver. 6.0.2800.1106ic. When trying to open OE page starts to load but hangs up with sandial staying up. Have to Ctrl/alt/del to get out. After backing up all OE folders/address books, I downloaded a new OE program. Tried to install over broken version. Got the following: "Set-up has detected a newer version of Internet Explorer already installed on the system. Set-up cannot continue." (???) I tried to uninstall current version of OE. It disapeared from Add/Remove programs list in Control Panel. However, all program files are still in the OE program Files folder. attempts to install new download result in same message above. I use Zone Alarm which is set up to recognize and give Trusted and Internet access to OE.
How, pray-tell, can I uninstall the broken OE and install the new download of the program?
