Windows Messenger - Getting Booted

Hi there,

I'm new to the forums

but hoping someone can help me out.

I’m having a problem with Windows Messenger. I can logon to my MSN account fine but I’m frequently getting booted from MSN, mostly mid conversation. Sometimes when I’m talking to other people also my status will suddenly change to logged out, even though I am still talking to the person.

I’m connecting to the internet via a router, and was wondering if there were some ports that need opening to allow Windows Messenger to run smoothly.

Another thought I had was downloading MSN messenger and stop using windows messenger, would this solve the problem ?

Any help would be very much appreciated.
