I agree, p2p software is not safe. You are taking a chance everytime you use it. Even if p2p was safe, Kaaza would not since you will get a lot of spware nasties bundled with it. I do not recomment any.

Definately dont use kazaa. not as good as it used to be and more then likely bundled with spyware as others have said.

What about Kazaa Gold? That's asupposedly the safe version. Is it worth paying for it? If not what should i use then?

Hi Manuelote, I understand that the payware version of KaZaA does not contain spyware however there are free spyware-free alternatives out there, see here (http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/p2p/).

This strikes me as being funny, I have Kazaa Lite, got an older version from this site ages ago...
Older Version Of Kazaa Lite (http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=kazaalite)
Just see what they say at the bottom of the page. :D

you could try ares or overnet. ares works best for music. overnet does it all and well.

Please open your eyes and notice this question is NOT about Kazaa but Kazaa GOLD which as AnnMarie has pointed out is "supposedly" spyware free since it is a pay version and is not "ad-supported".
That said, I agree with the first reply from Degsy - no p2p software is really safe these days.
There are worse things than spyware :(
