I seem to jump all around this place...hehe.
Anyway, I have an oddball question. I'm a member of another message board and over there we have a nasty member that the administrator is doing nothing about. He says it's because this guy will use IP cloakers or anonymizers to hide his IP and domain name and because of this he would constantly have to keep banning him. Is this true? I thought cloakers and anonymizers only changed the numbers of your IP, not your actual domain name. Anyone have any ideas? Any suggestions on how to ban him for good?

I think the best method is to keep banning the e-mails, the theory being that whoever it is, will get fed up with having to sign up for new e-mail accounts all the time. :)

Oooh thanks for the tip! I'll relay it back to the Admin.

The admin is correct because if the user is changing IP Addresses then the admin would keep having to ban IP Addresses and if he bans a range then he could unintentionally ban other users.

Yeah I knew about the IP addresses (well, the numbers anyway) but wasn't sure about the actual domain name.
I've posed a question about banning the email addresses on our Mod forum (I'm a mod there) so we're all waiting for an answer from him. I vaguely remember him banning others by their email address, but I'm not totally positive on that.
Thanks for the info!!

what domain are you taking about?
If you mean the ISP Domain Name then it goes hand in hand with the IP Address.
If you mean the Email Domain then if it is a personal account then it's possible that it could be banned, but if it popular such as hotmail or yahoo then you don't want to be banning the domains.

I meant the IP domain. Obviously I know absolutely nothing about all this..haha. I thought you could ban a domain for like one person and not affect anyone else but I guess not. Learn somethin' new everyday. :michaelan
If the Admin does do a ban, it'll probably be just his personal email address (if he can ban that anyway). If not then he'll just have to keep banning him thru his IP. A few of us mods have offered to become Admin's just so we can keep this guy away, but we've not heard anything back yet.

maybe the admin could moderate new members messages temporary.

Hmmm, maybe. I'll toss that suggestion at him as well. Thanks!!
