I have been using INCREDIMAIL for 2 to 3 years (free version) and it lets you choose several email notifiers which appear on your desktop when new emails show up. My notifier shows a revolving capital E on top of an opened envelope. You can also have a sound play also. It is much better than Outlook Express. PLEASE GIVE IT A TRY !!!!!!!!!!! :wave:

I don't know exactly what you mean, since I don't use hotmail, but I use Mozilla's ThunderBird in combination with the program "Pop goes the gmail", and it notifies me when I get a message, so I can turn on thunderbird and read the messages...
Maybe there's something out there that does the same for hotmail?
