Hello

Am new to this forum and am having some serious trouble with my internet webpage, I would appreciate it if you could help. The problem is, everytime I connect to the internet my internet browser keeps on changing to some porn link :( Am not sure whts causing this its only me and my younger brother who use this computer, and I know he doesn't go around looking those things. I would really be happy if someone could give me a solution to this problem.

Hi Meg and welcome to CTH

First

Download Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/) from here CHECK FOR UPDATES, Updating Ad-aware (http://www.lavahelp.com/howto/updref/index.html)

Configuring Ad-aware (http://www.lavahelp.com/howto/fullscan/index.html)
Run a scan with Ad-aware and have it fix everything it finds,
Next:
Could you download HiJackThis from http://allsecpros.com/#hjt (http://allsecpros.com/#hjt) Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.

You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it hjt.

Unzip HijackThis into this folder. Launch Hijack This, then press Scan, and press Save Log

This will generate a text file that will list all running processes, all applications that are loaded automatically when you start Windows, and more.

Most things are harmless and needed so don't make any changes.

post a log here please.

Someone will pop by and have a look at it,

Hi Meg and welcome to CTH

Go here and download Spybot Search&Destroy:
http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?lang=en&page=download

Check for updates before running the program. A tutorial can be found under help. You can safely delete what it finds.

Do likewise with Adaware that can be found here:
http://lavasoft.element5.com/software/adaware/

Each program finds what the other missed and vice versa.

Oops. posted the same time as Don.
