Hi
hope i put this post in the right place......my sons MSN name has been nicked by some reprobate; we've even spoken to him on IM, he thinks its great sport and also asked if we could give him 'our AOL' just for a minute.....!!!!! Needless to say we didnt; I tried to reset the password, but the creep has even changed the 'secret question' (which is "r u gay") *tuts* so I cant get anywhere. Is there anyway of getting the account back? I cant find anywhere on MSN for reporting 'stolen accounts' only abusive e-mails and the like. I could report the abusive IM message lol - the kid, if he is one, has a very unsavoury turn of phrase. I dont have much to do with MSN so Im unfamiliar with its workings. Hope someone can help :)

Hi,
Have you tried to email MSN? you could try that, but I don't think theres much you can do.

I personally don't use MSN but isn't there a 'recover password' option? The current password would then be emailed to you and you could change it.

Is it a paid account? if it is, you can reset the password by verifiying your billing information.

I guess thats on the same lines as resetting password.....only not only has the thieving little twerp guessed the password, hes also changed the 'secret question' so hes got my son good and proper.
Latest update is he's also stolen my sons friends' MSN name and will give them back only if he gets their Habbo (virtual Hotel) ID's :disgust: . I just hope he hasnt got keylogging stuff.....putting new passwords wont make any diff if he has.....the kid (if he is one) has said categorically that he WILL steal their Habbo ID's
I spose we're snookered :(

Also go to your local police station and report what has happened.
Your sons id has been stolen and the 'kid' is attempting to steal and is also committing blackmail.

Do you think it is someone who your son knows? you could create a new account for habbo and then give it to him, for exchange you get your MSN email back:rotflmao:
But you know he wont give them back......

go to the command promt start-run-command-enter
run "net stat" from the command prompt look for any forign connections you cant explain.
contact your isp with the ip address there and they may be able to track him for you.
We take people like this very seriously and will agresivly deal with those we catch.
also if this is a msn messenger account you can contact msn on line here
