My computer won't detect my new cable modem

I just got high-speed internet, or at least I had hoped to. Unfortunately my computer does not detect the cable modem with either a usb cable or an rj-45 cable. There are five lights on the modem - cable, pc, data, test and power. the cable, pc, and power lights come on but the other two don't. Pleeeeaaaasssee help me someone. I just want to connect to the internet for the love. :raphael:

Is it that your PC is not connecting to the Modem or that the Modem is not connecting to the Internet?

Have you registered the modem with your ISP?

it sounds like provisioning issue with ISP, I happened to work with HSD and recieve this kind of complaint daily.
