Hello everyone,

I downloaded and installed the evaluation version of Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition. The only problem i am having at the moment is that I am not able to open any avi files compressed with the old Radius Cinepak codec. Indeo, Divx, xvid etc all open fine. Just files compressed with the cvid codec does not.

I searched for the cvid codec and so far I have been unsuccessful. Windows Media player is also unable to download and install the codec from MS's codec site.

I checked the codec list and cvid does not show up. I also double checked these avi files on another machine and they open up perfectly, so I am sure the files are not corrupt either.

Where can I get an installer for the cvid codecs ?

So Far I have tried :
Nimo codec pack
K-Lite codec pack
camerapak.zip

I have a copy of the iccvid.dll. How can I install the codec manually ? Just copying it to windows\system32 does not register it with WMP.

Thanks in advance,

Pramod

Figured it out.

I had to open regedit and go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Dr ivers32\

And add a string

VIDC.CVID with a value of ICCVID.DLL

And now the driver is installed. Hope this info helps someone else in the same predicament :)
