I Tried To Get Assistance From Aol, But Was Unsuccessful. I Even Went As Far As Trying To Get Dsl Thinking It Was Just A Problem With Aol. But The Dsl Was Unsuccessful Also. A damaged connection service file can cause this problem.
I’m using aol 9 with xp and the following is the repair sequence:
Sign off from aol. Goto start>control panel. Ensure you are in classic view by clicking on the classic view button. Open add/remove programs and choose aol connectivity service, choose add/remove, then choose repair. Restart the computer.
Sign on to aol and let the modem be detected again. Confirm the modem type and access numbers and you should be returned to the sign on screen.
Clear redundant art files.
Close aol and goto start>all programs>aol>aol system information. Choose the utilities tab, select quick restore, select proceed, choose ok, relaunch aol.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling aol? Because I'm resident in the uk the program is called 'AOL UK'. It may be called something else where you are.
Uninstalling AOL
Windows 95/98/ME:
- Click on Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs.
- From the Add/Remove program screen highlight 'AOL UK' and click the Add/Remove button.
Windows 2000:
- Click on Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs
- From the Add/Remove program screen highlight 'AOL UK' and click the Change/Remove button.
Windows XP:
- Click on Start --> Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs.
- From the Add/Remove program screen highlight 'AOL UK' and click the Change/Remove button.
- Any installed versions of AOL will then be listed.
- Highlight any versions you wish to delete. Click 'Next' and 'Next' again.
- When uninstalling is complete click Finish, and restart the computer.
- Click OK to restart the computer. AOL will now be fully removed from the computer.
Reinstalling AOL
- Place the AOL CD in the CD tray.
- Select 'Current Member' and follow the on screen steps for installing.
- When installing is complete it will prompt to restart the computer. Click Yes.
Good luck

Just had a thought. Check the connection from your modem to the telephone line. Plug a telephone in that line to confirm it is active i.e. dial tone.
Can you post the exact error message pse.

Aol Spyware Remover may have damaged the Winsock layers, Download and run LSPFix from here:

the error reads... NO SERVER FOUND MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER
also.. i get an error when i 1st long on to my computer that reads.. WJVIEW ERROR ... im not sure if the two errors have something to do with it. And yes, I have tried unistalling Aol and reinstalling it.. Still not fix. The weird thing is that I can still get on Aol. and I can still get on AIM. I just cant get on any websites... Do you think its a problem with my Internet Explorer?
