it makes no difference what i am doing, or when i am doing it, but windows '98 keeps totally freezing up, cant even get control alt delete to work. this occurs at any point, but if the comp has been on for half an hour and it has yet to...it will in a few mins, i have tryed resetting mbr, running sfc, disabling startup progs, run a defrag, and scan disk, virus checked, disabled hardwear accelerator graphics, cleans cpu fan, u name it, and guess what...it keeps freezing, the mouse is clean, its not that, i am out of ideas, so any takers??
have also mucked about with ram, still no good, not able to perform a repair reinstal...is my partners aunts machine, and if i have to put up with this for 2 weeks its going to get fixed ;)

I went to a buddies house and switched my (GeForce2 GTS) with his GeForce 4. Well after we got done gaming I put my card back in got home and turned my machine on to play a lil counter-strike I start it and it gives me a blue screen :
Fatal 00 exception error has occurred 0028:C023DB7F in VXD(09) + 00001803
Sometimz it lets me back into windows but it usual locks up and I gotta go remove the Video adapter in safe mode then it repicks it back up then im fine again, Other then I cant play Counter-Strike. I tried reloading drivers nvidia.com and reinstalling DX9.0b but it dont help. Only thing I can think is it either changed some bios features or some software features. I reinstalled cs and also tried from scratch with a full format and install of win98se and all my basic drivers. If anyone can help Id appreciate it thankyou:wave:

comp is a pentium 3 733mhz with a 13gb hdd, 10 gb free, 256mb ram, about 63% free system resources. DirectX 6.1a installed, along with office 2000, has an iomega zipcd drive, an internal iomega zip disk drive and a standard floppy drive.
