Internet Connects but IE doesnot work??

Before this proberlem happend i was using adsl but then we got rid of that Now the problim is that my modem connects FINE i double click IE open and it says this page cannot be displayed im thinking ***? I check my phone like that funny conected modem noies plays. But i still cant get to any webpages i pinged my computer and it asked all these questions so i though ***? I then go run-> cmd-> ipconfig /all. There is a ip but still no webpages work i have windows xp norten anti virus 2004 kaspersky antivirus personel spy sweeper and pestpatrol I am so confues and it has nothing to do with the modem becuase i have already tryed that solution someone please help

Do other browsers work?
Try Firefox http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

It will determine if it is just an IE error.


Have you checked the Connection Settings?
Are you using a LAN. What about a Proxy Server?
