Got above Stop Error on working copy of W2000. No recent hardware/software changes. Parameters in BIOS seem correct. Tried to repair damaged OS using W2000 CD repair utility - also tried reintall of OS but the W2000 CD setup program cannot "see" the damaged OS so neither utility will run. Tried MS registry repair utility (created six install floppies then added ChkReg.exe to disk six) - Stop Error remains. Tried to reinstall OS and got second iteration of OS which works but cannot see installed applications. Tried to miagrate configuration settings by coping systemroot\system32\config files from damaged OS to working OS but got numerous error dialogs as W2000 desktop loaded. Am trying desparately to repair the damaged OS as computer belongs to elderly friend who is bookeeper and has failed to back up her work. Any assistance appreciated.

Thanks for the kb article.
Sorry I did not post the full Stop Error message- it is ***STOP: 0x0000006B (0xC0000034, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED
If this is te first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask you rhardware or software manufacturer for any Windowws 2000 updates you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.
Refer to your Getting Started manual for more information on Troubleshooting Stop errors.
Sure would appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Tom

I'm having the same problem as Tom, and have looked at the articles which did not help. Any other suggestions?
Thanks
Michael

Hi MastersM welcome to the community, you might want to start your own thread dealing with your issues, that way it won't get confusing. ;)
