IE 6 will not open new window

About 2 weeks ago IE 6 quit opening in a new window. When I tell it to open in a new window it does nothing. I thought there was a way to set it to open page in new window but I cannot seem to find it. Using Windows XP for an OS

Welcome

I think the option you are looking for is
Internet Options>Advanced>Reuse windows for launching shortcuts

but I don't think that is the problem.

Have you tried a System Restore?

Have you run Virus and Spyware scans?

How are you trying to open a new window?
If it is from a Javascript link then check to see if you have a popup blocker.

That box was checked. I have a current version of McAffee and have run adaware and spybot. All have found some things in the past few weeks and have removed them. It will not open any page and all blockers are off when I try.

Thanks

More info

Thanks for the tips.

Tried the easy part, no luck, tried to reload IE 6 from that page and get an error that it doesn't have an XP compatibility certificated and will not load. Not an easy one apparently.

Any other ideas?
