Please Help! My daughter loves to play the Maxis/Electronic Arts game The Sims. However, all of the sudden, the program suddenly started to shut itself down after it was booted up. The Sims is running on an IBM PC with Windows 2000 Professional. It has the Livin' Large and Unleashed Expansion Packs installed. It was running fine for a week or two and then all of the sudden, once she started the program running, it would get to the Neighborhood screen and then it would shut down (turn itself off) and stop, returning to the Windows desktop. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Sims program. I even went so far as to delete Windows, reformat C: drive and reinstall Windows again. It hasn't solved the problem. Has anyone run into this problem or has any idea what is causing it or how to fix it? Thank you for any help you can be.

Hi, make sure you have visited the EA homepage for the sims and installed all their patches for the appropriate games (there have been a few).

I'm having the exact same problem accept mine never even gets to the neighborhood screen. It gets to the point where it's about to go there and then just goes back to the main Windows screen, like you said. There is one thing though; the game worked fine until I was playing it one night during a storm and the power went out while I was playing. The next day of so I put it back in to play again and the problem started. We, also, have tryed uninstalling and then installing again and I just got a differant Sims game and it doesn't work either but The Sims Creator works. If anyone could give me any help at all, please feel free to e-mail me and/or reply here.
